The sun was shining, the music was pumping, and the Westside spirit was on full display at Nalu Vida's recent Fire Fundraiser Block Party! Our community truly showed up for the heroes of Venice Fire Station 63 and the Marina del Rey Fireman's Fund, and the results were nothing short of epic.
Picture this: a beautiful, warm day in West Los Angeles, kicking off with the brave firefighters of Station 63 flipping pancakes and serving up smiles. From there, the energy only amplified. Live bands rocked the stage, comedians brought the laughs, DJs spun tunes, and the aroma of delicious food mingled with the cool ocean breeze. It was a true Westside celebration, filled with good vibes, friendly faces, and a shared sense of purpose.
And what a purpose it was! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the event raised nearly $10,000! This impressive total came from drink and food sales, QR code donations (which were generously matched by the MDR Rotary Club!), and Venice Brand raffle tickets. Every single dollar will go directly to support the vital work of Fire Station 63 and the MDR Fireman's Fund. Talk about an awesome success!
This incredible achievement wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and passion of some key individuals. A huge shout-out to organizers Christian Warren and Justin Urich from Nalu Vida, and Alex Stowell of Venice Paparazzi for their tireless efforts. We also want to extend sincere respect to Councilwoman Traci Park, Sonya Young Jimenez from L.A. City Rec. & Parks, The Venice Brand, and Nancy and Debra of MDR Rotary, along with their respective teams. Your support was amazing!
The entertainment lineup was just as fire as the cause! Major props to Brobots, Unkle Monkey, Thirst Heroes, DJ Yoga Matt, and all the hilarious comedians (whose names we'll be sure to catch next time!). You all brought the heat and kept the party going strong.
But the biggest thanks of all goes to YOU, the Westside community. Your presence, your enthusiasm, and your generosity made this event truly special. It was inspiring to see everyone come together to support such a worthy cause in our own back yard. This is what makes the Westside such an amazing place to live, work, and play. We're so proud to be a part of this community!
