Ways to Give on Thanksgiving Day 2022
The Holiday season is approaching and unfortunately, there are people in need who are struggling to find a warm meal. According to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, “one in five people in Los Angeles County experiences food insecurity.” We have created a list of ways you can give this Thanksgiving Day.
Big Sunday’s Annual Thanksgiving Stuffing Event
Big Sunday will be holding its 11th annual Thanksgiving Stuffing Event on Wednesday, November 23rd where they hope to distribute at least 3,000 bags of food. They are currently looking for volunteers as well as donations. These meals will be distributed out to people with needs, including vets, homeless families, domestic shelters, and many more. For more information on volunteering or donating, you can check out their website at bigsunday.org.
Socks4Souls Thankful to give on Thanksgiving Day
Socks4Souls will gather around Pershing Square at 9am on Thanksgiving morning to pass out hygiene kits to those living outside of shelters. They encourage their volunteers to engage in conversations and spread smiles to those who are going through a tough time. If you would like to donate hygiene products they have a list of items that could be donated such as toothbrushes, socks, blankets and more. Union Station Homeless Services
For over 50 years, Union Station Homeless Services has been celebrating Thanksgiving with those in need. For their Dinner in the Park event, you can volunteer, donate, or purchase items off of their wishlist.
