Following the devastating wildfires that swept through our region earlier this year, affecting beloved communities like Pacific Palisades and Alta Dena, a powerful force has stepped forward to champion the rebuilding effort: Rick Caruso. Steadfast LA's bold initiatives to "rebuild smarter and better" include:

  • Undergrounding Power Lines: One of their first major pushes is to convince county and city officials to underground power lines, a crucial step in preventing future fire risks.

  • AI for Expedited Permitting: Recognizing L.A.'s notoriously slow approval process, Steadfast LA is innovating with an AI model designed to check building plans. This technology aims to minimize time and costs for homeowners, making the permit process more efficient and customer-centric.

  • Community Support Through Housing: In a significant philanthropic effort, Steadfast LA is partnering with Samara manufactured homes to donate units to low-to-moderate-income individuals, helping them get back into their communities.

Caruso, whose Palisades Village community shopping center miraculously survived the fires due to private preparedness measures, believes firmly in lessons learned. "We were prepared. We stationed our firefighters, we stationed our water trucks a couple of days before and we built the project with non-combustible materials," he shared, highlighting the importance of proactive measures and smarter building choices for future resilience.
