Bike Paths; Where are the best bike paths in Silicon Beach See below the best Silicon Beach bike paths.

Hiking, surfing and biking are year round sports for us here in southern California and we know all of the best sports to go and explore. With an ever-growing bicycle culture taking over southern California, we have composed a list of the top places to take a ride!

The Strand

It doesn’t matter if you have lived in California your entire life or if you are only here for a couple days, The Strand bike path, also known as the South Bay Bike path, is one of the best things to do when you have free time in Southern California. This Manhattan Beach bike path starts at Will Rogers State Beach and travels through all of the South Bay beach communities and 2 harbors: Marina del Rey and King Harbor at Redondo Beach.

Depending upon where you park, the distance can be as much as 40 miles round trip. It’s a good all-day workout with the perk of terrific views!

Hunting Beach Bike Trail

Ride your bike through two of California’s most picturesque beaches-- Newport and Huntington Beaches. Ride along various communities, piers and city streets. There are a variety of parking options along the trail but parking just a warning, parking can be a challenge. There are many food kiosks and cafés along the way to refuel, so all you need is a water bottle before you set out for a day on the trail.

Back Bone Trail Santa Monica Mountains

If the busy beach trails are too easy or busy for you, then maybe the Santa Monica Mountain trails are more up your alley? But just a warning, these mountain trails are not for inexperienced riders.

The trail starts at Point Mugu State Park and follows along the Santa Monica Mountain crest to Will Rogers State Park. This trail has a lot of variety, up, down, rocky and smooth and is generally classified as a “hard” trail. It is about 8 miles long and is generally ridden as a loop.

Sullivan Canyon Trail Santa Monica Mountains

If you are a good rider but aren’t in the mood to do anything too difficult, then we suggest trying out this trail! A popular trail for both riders and walkers, Sullivan Canyon runs from North to South in the Santa Monica Mountains East of Will Rogers State Park. It is an 8.5 mile loop but it’s terrain is nothing too difficult.
