Seaside Scares & Harbor Lights: Marina Spooktacular Returns to Burton Chace Park
![]()
When autumn hits the coastline, coastal Halloween events offer a uniquely Southern California vibe: cool harbor breezes, oceanfront views, and costumed crowds gathering by the water. This weekend, Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches & Harbors brings back one of the Westside’s favorite seasonal traditions: Marina Spooktacular.
Taking over the grassy expanses of Burton Chace Park in Marina del Rey, this two-day event delivers a full slate of free, family-friendly festivities by day before ramping up the haunting energy after sunset.
Daytime Delights & After-Dark Thrills
The event is designed with tiered scare levels, making it ideal for young families early in the afternoon and horror enthusiasts once night falls over the marina:
-
Family-Friendly Afternoon (4:00 PM – Dusk): Perfect for younger kids, featuring magic shows, inflatables, graveyard treasure hunts, arts and crafts, and themed face-painting stations.
-
Haunted Evening (Dusk – 10:00 PM): Once the sun sets over the harbor, the park transforms with a full haunted maze, dedicated scare zones, and roaming costumed characters bringing seaside scares.
-
Community Photo Booth: Venice Paparazzi will be on-site capturing costume photos throughout both evenings.
