Palisades, Let's Recharge! "Rooted in Resilience" Weekend is Here!

Campbell Wellman Rooted in Resilience Event

Get ready for a weekend filled with good vibes, community spirit, and a whole lot of heart! This Saturday, April 19th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Clover Park in Santa Monica is set to blossom into a hub of connection and celebration as the Pacific Palisades comes together for the "Rooted in Resilience" event. Forget the to-do lists and embrace an opportunity to connect and celebrate the incredible strength of our community.

Organizers are expecting over a thousand of our amazing neighbors to gather for a day that's about so much more than just fun – it's a chance to reinforce the bonds that make the Palisades so special. Think of it as a collective exhale, a moment to appreciate how far we've come and to draw strength from each other as we continue on the path of rebuilding.

The day is jam-packed with uplifting activities for everyone. Get ready to groove to the sounds of the Pali High Band, the cool vibes of Outer Reef, and the nostalgic tunes of 1969. Your taste buds are in for a treat too, with a delicious lineup of local food trucks featuring favorites like the mouthwatering Gracias Señor Taqueria, the authentic Flour Pizzeria, the always-welcome McConnell’s Ice Cream, the smoky goodness of John Que’s Smokeout, and the tropical delights of The Tropic Truck. Come hungry!

For those looking to nurture their well-being, SuperBloom is presenting a series of fantastic wellness activities. Imagine starting your Saturday with a refreshing yoga session, followed by the therapeutic power of creative storytelling, or finding your center with live piano meditation. It's the perfect opportunity to nourish your mind, body, and soul.

And because community is all about connection, Katie O’Neill Fine Art Studio, in partnership with the Bruce Lurie Gallery, will be leading an interactive community art project. This is your chance to contribute to a collective expression of resilience and hope – a beautiful reminder of our shared journey.

The little ones (and the young at heart!) haven't been forgotten either. St. Matthew’s Day Camp and Sandy Days are bringing a fantastic array of children’s programming, including the ever-popular tie-dye station, dazzling face painting, an energetic game of dodgeball, and the always-thrilling gaga ball pit. It's a day where the whole family can find joy and connection.

Make sure to catch the opening remarks at 11:30 a.m., emceed by the familiar voice of Sam Lagana. We'll also have appearances from former honorary mayors of the Palisades, our dedicated Los Angeles City Councilwoman Traci Park, and the brave firefighters from both the Palisades and Santa Monica – the heroes who were on the front lines protecting our community.

"Rooted in Resilience" isn't just an event; it's a testament to the spirit of the Pacific Palisades. It's a chance to come together, celebrate our strength, support our local businesses, and look towards the future with hope and unity. So mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and head down to Clover Park this Saturday for a day of connection and some great community fun. We can't wait to see you there!
