Outdoor Movie Night on the Lawn
Summer may be over but that does not mean autumn doesn’t welcome a number of outdoor events or activities here in MDR. The Jamaica Bay Inn hosts free family friendly movies on the lawn every Sunday, seating starts at 7pm and the movie begins at dusk. These movie nights will take place on the beachfront lawn of the Jamaica Bay Inn all the way through December and tickets are not required. Seating is first come first serve and they encourage you to bring your low lawn chairs, pillows, blankets and anything else you need to get comfy on the lawn, warm food and drinks will be available for sale.
This last Sunday in September they will be showing The Mitchell’s vs. The Machines. Each month has a holiday inspired theme, therefore it comes as no surprise that the month of October the lineup consists of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Corpse Bride, Casper, Halloweentown, and Hocus Pocus. All throughout November and December you can expect Christmas movies such as Nightmare Before Christmas, A Christmas Story, Elf and so many more classic holiday films.
Going out to the Jamaica Bay Inn’s beachfront lawn to watch a movie with friends or family is a great way to end a weekend in Marina del Rey! Remember to dress appropriately for the cool evenings and don’t forget a blanket for extra warmth and comfort.
