It’s the first Friday of October and you know what that means: Abbot Kinney’s First Friday!

If you are one of the few who don’t know what “First Friday” is then read on because it’s something you don’t want to miss out on! If you do know what “First Friday” is then read on because we have some pro tips and tricks that might not already know!

According to abbotkinneyfirstfridays.com, “First Fridays on Abbot Kinney Bl is a fun, food truck focused event with select shops open late, happy hours at select restaurants and special events in popup locations that vary each month.”

This Friday, beginning at around 4:00 PM food trucks will line Abbot Kinney Boulevard between Venice Boulevard and Westminster. The actual event usually begins around 5:00 PM and lasts until 11:00 PM, but a lot of restaurants and businesses keep the festivities going longer!

Each month, First Fridays gives local venders, artists and restaurant owners a fun way to interact with the community.

“We wanted to support locally owned businesses in Venice,” Mike Newhouse, Community Officer for the Venice Neighborhood Council told discoverlosangeles.com. “So we created this walkable community event as a way to support the businesses and strengthen the feel of Abbot Kinney.”

Some of the local businesses that stand out are the Mac Daddy and Crepes Bonaparte Food Trucks as well as The Brig Bar. Just by hitting up these three places, you can get an amazing dinner and desert and end your night with a drink! Though regardless of which food truck or restaurant you decide to check out, we’re sure you’ll eat some delicious food.

Because the food trucks are so delicious and the local art is so desirable, First Fridays is always a very popular event! There are usually lines and finding tables to sit and eat at can be a little difficult, but don’t let that stop you from stopping by!

Pro Tip: Don’t let lack of parking be a reason not to go either! Simply take an Uber or a Lyft, it will be a lot less stressful than getting a parking spot!
