Mother’s Day 2021

Celebrating Mother’s Day in LA

Happy (almost) Mother’s Day to all the mamas!

For those of you that are last minute planners: Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 9th! But don’t stress just yet, we have compiled a list of a few ways you can celebrate the moms in your life this Mother’s Day.

1. Bourbon Steak Los Angeles

Moms deserve to be treated like the queens they are, and one way to do so is with a luxurious three-course meal at Bourbon Steak Los Angeles this Mother’s Day. A special Mother’s Day menu has been curated by Executive Chef Dennis Bernardo, featuring foods like wild mushroom tartine, potato and onion frittata, and burnt basque cheesecake. The meal starts at $75/person and reservations can be made at the link above.

2. Off Vine

The Vine is also offering a special Mother’s Day brunch menu. Options include a lox platter, turkey meatloaf hash, banana pancakes, and a ton of other goodies. Unfortunately, they are not providing any substitutions or modifications to meals on the holiday, however, they do have a variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from.

3. Mom’s Favorite Restaurant

The restaurants listed above are all great options for a Mother’s Day meal, but you can always take your mom to her favorite restaurant to celebrate instead. Being in a space that is familiar and brings back fond family memories is a super cozy way to spend Mother’s Day.

4. Picnic at the Park

If you aren’t interested in a restaurant experience, going to the park and having a picnic is another awesome (and relaxing) way to celebrate Mother’s Day. You can even switch it up and go for a hike or head to the beach. Either way, getting outdoors and being around family is always a nice time!

5. The Huntington Library

Now for those of you wanting the best of both worlds, The Huntington Library is a spectacular visit for Mother’s Day. Treat your mom to Tea for Two at the 1919 Café and then meander through the gardens, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying each other’s company. Note that Tea for Two reservations must be made 48 hours in advance.

As a bonus tip—if your mom shows up with plans already prepared, just run with it—it is her day after all!
