There are few things more relaxing than tasting wines at a vineyard. Whether it’s a day out with the girls or a romantic date—wineries are the perfect adventure for any adult.
Just 40 short miles outside of central Los Angles, the Malibu wineries are positioned throughout the Santa Monica Mountains. With rich soil and predictable climate, wine makers have found the perfect place to call home.
There are winetasting rooms throughout the landscape; each with its very own individualized experience. Though it would be easier and more convenient to have these tasting rooms in the middle of LA, separating them from the bustle of the city brings and entirely new and unique experience to drinking wine.
Pro tip: only try to visit one of these wineries per day, that way you get the full experience without feeling rushed.

Rosenthal Estate Winery
In 1987 Los Angeles businessman George Rosenthal began planting vineyards at his 250 acre Malibu retreat. Today It is the only winery in all of Malibu that has views of the ocean. Located at 18741 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA, Rosenthal Estate Winery offers an intimate tasting room along the Pacific Coast Highway, it a perfect place to get away.
Malibu Wines
Malibu Wines is open 7 days a week, all year round. There is no admission fee, all you have to do is buy a bottle of wine for your group! If you feel like making a day of it, bring a picnic along and enjoy a day out in the sun. Its an all outdoor facility with dozens of tables, chairs and umbrellas decorating the lawn, making it feel like a family gathering. There is also live music every weekend for your pleasure! It’s located at 31740 Mulholland Hwy Malibu, CA.
Malibu Rocky Oaks
If you are looking for a weekend away, this is the place for you! Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyard consists of 10 planted acres on a 37-acre plot. Hand picked and maintained by the same team of professionals since the start, the vineyard has become one of the most recognized and awarded in the region. It is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy some wine. The estate is located at 340 Kanan Road Malibu, CA.
Cornell Winery
If you are looking for a place to get truly local wine, Cornell Winery is the place for you! They have wine from approximately 50 different wineries in the Santa Monica Mountains. . If you're looking for a single place to sample a wide assortment of wines from various wineries in Malibu, Cornell's tasting room is the place to do it! It’s located at 29975 Mulholland Hwy, Cornell, CA.
