Los Angeles Orchards
Autumn Apple Picking
Fall will be here in just over a month, and we are excited! Since it’s never too early to start planning seasonal festivities, the Silicon Beach Homes team has been doing some brainstorming.
Apple picking is a fall-time classic, and because Los Angeles is so supremely located, there are many orchards just a short drive away.
Apple season at Willowbrook Apple Farm begins Labor Day weekend, with visitors enjoying apple picking and cider pressing until early November. There are all sorts of apples, including the Sweet Sixteen, the Double Delicious, and their 110-years-old Stayman Winesap apples.
Starting in October, this magical little orchard is open for visitors. Your admission includes a brief educational tour and apple tasting, access to an interactive garden for kids, games, and more! 130-years-old Stayman-Winesap apples are abundant and ready to be picked.
While you can’t go apple picking at Parrish Pioneer Ranch, you can head over to their main barn, where apples are available for purchase. Like Parkdale Beauty, all apples grown here are uncommon or no longer sold in stores, such as Pink Pearl. This makes Parrish Pioneer Ranch an especially unique orchard to visit.
Apple picking at Los Rios Rancho begins on Labor Day and runs through Thanksgiving. Visitors can also press cider using an antique apple press. Other fun activities include hayrides, a corn maze, a petting zoo, and so much more! Check out their Instagram for updates.
Happy almost fall, everyone! With tons of time to plan and prepare, we hope you have an awesome autumn.
