Lace Up for Resilience: Ultra-Marathon Relay from Altadena to Palisades Supports Fire Recovery!
![]()
Get ready to witness an inspiring display of community spirit in motion! This Saturday, runners will embark on an extraordinary 50-kilometer journey, stretching from the foothills of Altadena all the way to the scenic shores of the Pacific Palisades. Organized by the Silver Lake Track Club, the "Altadena to the Palisades: An Ultra-Marathon Relay" isn't just about pounding the pavement; it's a powerful, symbolic effort to raise vital funds for ongoing wildfire recovery across Los Angeles.
The organizers aptly frame rebuilding from the wildfires as "an ultra-marathon, not a sprint." To symbolically connect the communities impacted and those offering support, this 50k journey will take runners through the heart of LA. There are fantastic ways to get involved: sign up as a runner, make a direct donation, or volunteer/cheer at one of the aid stations along the route!
The Scenic 50k Route: Altadena to the Palisades
The relay kicks off bright and early this Saturday, May 10th at 7:00 a.m. at the Good Neighbor Bar in Altadena. Runners will then traverse a roughly 10-kilometer (6-mile) leg to a series of welcoming checkpoints, each offering a chance to regroup and refuel:

Participants can choose to run the entire 50k as a solo ultra-marathoner, gather friends to form a relay team of up to five, or simply run whichever segment of the course suits their ability and schedule. Remember, this isn't a race! It's a celebratory run to reflect on the resilience of Los Angeles and re-energize the collective efforts to rebuild our beautiful city through the power of running.
The Silver Lake Track Club warmly invites all run clubs and individual runners to join this meaningful initiative and make a tangible impact on our community's recovery. All funds raised through this incredible effort will be directly donated to local, ongoing fire relief and rebuilding efforts, supporting vital organizations such as:
-

Altadena Public Library

-
National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) Immigrant Fire Relief Fund
