The neighborhood—which sits just east of Santa Monica—is just a little over five square miles, but it’s trendiness reaches far beyond that! What makes Culver City so desirable is it’s location. It sits only a couple of miles away from both LAX and the ocean.
Though it's sandwiched between the notoriously gridlocked junction of the 10 and the 405, it's possible to ditch your car thanks to the Metro Expo Line. There is also a bike path that runs along the Ballona Creek will take you from Culver City to the beach, and the L.A. metro will get you downtown in 40 minutes.

Bar Nine is no ordinary coffee shop, from directly sourced coffees from producers in Panama to Ethiopia, to meticulously crafted roasts Bar Nine is known for its incredible guest experience. Bar Nine is easy-to-overlook, tucked off of a quiet residential street, with a bare-bones warehouse feel. Coffee is served in glass jars and a tailored menu of breakfast staples like egg sandwiches, yogurt, and granola, makes this the perfect spot for a cup of coffee and an instagram worthy breakfast.
Bird is an established Brooklyn boutique that opened its first location outside of NYC in Culver City. Much like it’s well known east coast locations, the luxury shop stocks clothing and accessories from labels like Proenza Schouler, Apiece Apart, and Rachel Comey. The only difference between the locations on the two coasts is the size. The Culver City is larger than and more inviting than it’s east coast counterparts.
Hi Lo Liquor is anything but your average liquor store! Hi Lo stocks everything from small-batch, bottled cocktails to gourmet yogurt. Owners Chris Harris and Talmadge Lowe curate the beer, wine, and spirits selection while their significant others collaborate on the market and sundries offerings.
If you can’t tell, speciality liquor is a pretty hot commodity in Los Angeles. For example, Stanley’s Wet Goods on Venice Boulevard is dedicated to sustainable wines and small-batch beers and spirits. The shop also features a beer and wine bar where you can drink your purchase from the store, or order from their carefully crafted menu.
