The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced a program offering vital financial assistance to residents affected by the fire. This is a significant step forward in our recovery journey, and it can make a real difference for families and individuals facing the challenges of rebuilding.

Understanding the Support:

Here's a breakdown of what the SBA is offering:

  • Loan application assistance and financial counseling: Starting December 3rd, representatives from the SBA will be available at the Ventura County Office of Education Conference Center (Oxnard & Hueneme Rooms) to guide you through the application process and answer any questions. They'll also be offering financial counseling to help you navigate your recovery finances effectively.

  • Disaster loan options: The SBA offers various loan programs to address specific needs:

    • Business Loans: Up to $2 million for businesses to repair or replace damaged property, equipment, and inventory.

    • Economic Injury Loans: Available for small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, and nonprofits even if their property wasn't directly damaged by the fire. These loans help cover ongoing expenses during the recovery period.

    • Homeowner Loans: Up to $500,000 to help homeowners rebuild or repair damaged homes.

    • Personal Property Loans: Up to $100,000 for homeowners and renters to replace damaged belongings, including vehicles.

Interest rates are as low as 2.563% for homeowners and renters, and 4% for businesses. This makes these loans a very attractive option for those needing financial support.

Don't miss out! The deadline to apply for property damage loans is January 28th, 2025. Economic Injury Loans have a longer deadline of August 29th, 2025. We encourage everyone to submit their applications promptly to ensure they receive the assistance they deserve.
