A Day of Service and Community: The Venice Beach Back 2 School Festival

Campbell Wellman Councilwoman Traci Park Back To School Coastal Cleanup Venice Beach

This Saturday, Venice Beach is hosting a powerful day of community and compassion with the 6th Annual Back 2 School Festival: Coastal Wellness & Fire Relief Edition. Presented by the incredible organization It’s Bigger Than Us (IBTU), this event is about more than just preparing for the school year—it's a celebration of healing, service, and a community dedicated to lifting each other up.

From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM near the Skatepark and Fishing Pier, the festival will be a hub of free resources and positive energy. Over 1,500 free backpacks will be distributed to help students start the year strong, while on-site support and resources will be available for families impacted by the recent wildfires. With live youth performances, games, and wellness services, the festival offers a powerful reminder of how a community can come together to support its own.

The event’s theme of "Coastal Wellness" also shines a light on the continuous efforts to care for our beloved coastline. Here in Venice Beach, community service extends beyond singular events. Organizations like Heal the Bay and the Surfrider Foundation regularly host volunteer-led cleanups, working tirelessly to preserve our beautiful beaches. The Back 2 School Festival is a perfect way to celebrate this spirit of community care and environmental stewardship, showing that our collective well-being is intrinsically linked to the health of our environment.

This free event is open to everyone, with special giveaways for pre-registered families. It’s an opportunity to show up, lift up, and help build a stronger, healthier community for all. Free tickets - RSVP Here!
