The kids are still out of school! Take them to the beach we have the best beaches here for you take your little one.
There are plenty of beaches in California that are adult friendly; beaches that boast their acclaim for being the best place to surf, swim, workout or paddleboard. What you are less likely to find are the best kid friendly beaches in California. That’s why we came up with a list of the best beaches to take your kids where they can splash, play, and kick up sand without any complaint!
Mother’s Beach
Named because of its gentle waves, shallow swimming area, and lifeguard supervision, Mother’s Beach is the perfect place to take your kiddos on a hot summers day. Located in Marine Park, the beach is surrounded with other family friendly activities like Volleyball, kayaking and paddle boarding. Marine Park is also popular with local families because of the protected swimming area, large kids playground, sand toys, grass lawns, concessions stand, and picnic facilities. One of the best parts of Mother’s Beach though is the fact that most of the people on the beach have young children as well, so there is less of a worry that screams, tears, splashing and thrown sand will upset others. This means that the day on the beach can be more relaxing and fun for all involved!
Santa Monica Beach
Santa Monica is a great place to take the kids, but not for the same reason that Mother’s Beach is. Santa Monica is great because it’s a massive 3-mile strip of sandy beach, rolling waves, and a pier with rides and games for children of all ages! Because of its sheer size, Santa Monica Beach has all of the activities you could imagine. You can spend the entire day on the Santa Monica Pier, or your child could enjoy one of the 2 playgrounds on the beach, or play basketball or tennis on the courts that line the beaches. Surf lessons are also offered for your little one. There is no possible way your child could be bored at Santa Monica Beach.
Venice Beach
If watching street performers and enjoying an eclectic view is something your family enjoys then Venice Beach is the place for you! On the Venice Beach Boardwalk you can take a family day rollerblading, bike riding, or simply sitting outside and watching the local artists work their magic. Your kids will also enjoy looking for sea stars that cling to the posts on the Venice Beach Pier, as well as the small playground on the beach!
