Art on the Avenue: Why We Love the Montana Ave Art Walk

Montana Ave isn't just a place to shop or grab a coffee; it’s a core part of our Santa Monica. This Saturday, September 27, it will be something more: a vibrant, open-air gallery celebrating our local art and culture.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Montana Avenue Art Walk transforms the street (from 7th to 17th) into a car-free, pedestrian-only destination. It’s a genuine celebration of our community’s creative spirit, with over 150 visual artists showcasing their work. You'll find everything from stunning abstract paintings to intricate handcrafted pottery, with artists like Carlos Vargas and Amanda K Lockrow contributing to the day’s rich tapestry of talent.

 

 

Highlights We’re Looking Forward To

The Art Walk is a full-day experience, offering something for everyone in the family. It's a perfect opportunity to wander and discover new favorite spots.

  • Art, Music & More: The sound of jazz, Latin, and cover bands will fill the air, with live music stages throughout the avenue.

  • A Taste of Our Community: As you stroll, you can sip on a perfect latte from Caffe Luxxe or grab a bite at local favorites like Father’s Office.

  • For the Kids: The family-friendly activities are top-notch. Paint+Lab is offering free workshops for all ages, with everything from acrylic painting lessons to speed-portrait drawing.

  • A Taste of Home: For a more relaxed experience, head to the Bottled Poetry Wine Garden for a curated wine tasting, set to a live DJ set by DJ MOZO.

The Montana Avenue Merchants Association does an incredible job of creating these community-forward events. It’s a day to support our local artists and businesses and celebrate the culture that makes this neighborhood a truly special place to call home.
