A Golden Standard for Public Spaces: Veuve Clicquot Partners to Restore the Venice Pier
![]()
Over the weekend, the iconic sun-drenched stretch of Ocean Front Walk took on a distinct shade of yellow. Luxury champagne house Veuve Clicquot transformed the Venice Beach Fishing Pier into a vibrant Club Solaire hub, launching a major civic partnership with the Los Angeles Parks Foundation aimed at restoring and preserving the historic structure through Spring 2027.
The three-day immersive event brought champagne bars, local pop-ups, and coastal culture to the boardwalk—but its most lasting footprint will be underneath the deck. The partnership directly supports the ongoing, multi-phase revitalization of the Venice Pier, aligning private-sector investment with public infrastructure ahead of Los Angeles welcoming the world for the 2028 Olympic Games.
A Public-Private Vision for Venice 2028
Venice Beach is slated to play a starring role in the LA28 Games, serving as the official backdrop for the women’s triathlon on July 15, 2028—where the very first Olympic medal of the Games will be awarded.
Councilmember Traci Park emphasized that civic and corporate partnerships are vital to making sure L.A.’s coastal public spaces are camera-ready:
"Venice Beach is going to be the face of Los Angeles in 2028 during the Olympics. But this is a team effort... It is literally, truly an all-hands-on-deck effort to get these projects done." — Councilmember Traci Park

Inside the Pier Restoration & Infrastructure Upgrades
While Veuve Clicquot’s Club Solaire activation brought immediate energy to Ocean Front Walk with yellow beach cruisers, artisan pop-ups, and oceanfront dining, the long-term work focuses on structural integrity and public accessibility:
-
Phase II Structural Repairs: Supported by Measure A funding alongside new foundation backing, the city's Department of Recreation and Parks is actively repairing concrete piles, pile caps, deck soffits, and the top deck along the pier.
-
Expanded Path System: City planners are assessing widening the Marvin Braude Bike Trail while establishing a dedicated, separate pedestrian path through Venice Beach to ease boardwalk flow.
-
Solar Lighting Upgrades: A $250,000 project scheduled for 2027 will add eco-friendly, solar-powered lighting near the pier, enhancing nighttime safety and energy efficiency.
The Campbell Wellman Take
Civic investment of this scale signals lasting confidence in Venice's real estate ecosystem. When global brands partner with local foundations to upgrade historic public infrastructure ahead of international milestones like LA28, the benefits extend far beyond a single weekend event. Enhancing the safety, aesthetics, and structural longevity of the Venice Pier directly elevates the coastal lifestyle and long-term asset values for surrounding homeowners along Ocean Front Walk and the Venice Canals.
