When is this year’s Abbot Kinney Festival?
The Abbot Kinney Festival takes place each year on the last Sunday of September. This year the world-renowned event on Sunday, September 29th from 10:00am to 6:00pm. This year marks the 35th year that the festival has taken place. Abbot Kinney located in Venice, the Heart of Silicon Beach draws hundreds of people out to enjoy this amazing event.
What is the Abbot Kinney Festival?
Dubbed the coolest block in America by GQ Magazine, Abbot Kinney Boulevard is a mile-long street of eclectic boutiques and artisan restaurants. The Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, California AKA Silicon Beach, is celebrating it’s 35th year, and is sure to be packed with excited locals and tourists alike.
The festival is free to all attendees and features over 350 vendors, food trucks and booths. The family-friendly festival features kids rides and games and a kids concert stage. Grownups can enjoy the three beer gardens during the event, and the three other concert stages that feature music for all ages.
Logistics: Where to park?
We know parking can be a pain in the Neck in Silicon Beach especially in Venice here are a few tips to get you a great parking space.
There are three official parking lots for the Abbot Kinney Festival — Santa Clara & Electric, Milwood & Electric, and Venice Blvd & Irving Tabor (between Electric & Abbot Kinney).
Festival parking is valet only and costs $25. Part of your parking fee goes straight back into the Venice community.
There are also a few public parking lots located throughout the area. One is at Westminster Elementary School on Main Street between Brooks Avenue and Westminster Avenue. According to the Abbot Kinney Festival website, other lots are located on Windward, Electric Avenue, Washington Boulevard near Venice Pier, and in Marina del Rey.
Logistics: Other modes of transportation?
If you aren’t looking to fight traffic or pay parking fees, you can use one of the Silicon Beach buses or shuttles to get to the festival. The Playa Vista Beach Shuttle will drop you within walking distance of the Festival. Other stops on this shuttle include Admiralty Way, Washington Boulevard, Fisherman’s Village, and Playa Vista.
If you’re not feeling like driving or using public transit, you could always ride your bike to the event. There are free Bike Valet Stations are located at each end of the Festival. Park your bike at the intersection of Abbot Kinney and Venice, or the corner of Abbot Kinney and Main.
