Every year the best of the best are awarded for their handwork and talent in the film industry. And after a long night of gowns, paparazzi and a red carpet, the stars get to let loose and go to their favorite after parties. Most of these parties are exclusive and invite only, but below we have a list of the A-list parties we expect to see this year!
Oscar Night 2019
First and foremost, the 2019 Oscars take place on Sunday, February 24 at 5:00pm PST. This year marks the 91st Academy Awards, with the films “Roma” and “The Favourite” leading nominations with 10 nods each. They are both nominated for the coveted Best Picture alongside “Black Panther,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “A Star Is Born,” “Vice,” and “Green Book.”
You can watch the awards at home on ABC!
Vanity Fair Oscar Party
Last year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Party was held at a custom-designed space that connects the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts with Beverly Hills City Hall in the 90210.
The party saw academy award winners Jordan Peele, Gary Oldman, Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell, Allison Janney, Bryan Fogel, Kobe Bryant, Sebastiàn Lelio, James Ivory and Roger Deakins. Nominees such as Greta Gerwig, Timothee Chalamet, Margot Robbie, Willem Dafoe, Daniel Kaluuya, Octavia Spencer, Kumail Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon, Richard Jenkins, Saoirse Ronan and Rachel Morrison also attended.
These award winning and nominated actors and filmmakers are just like you and me though. As the after party kicked off, celebrities were excited to eat the buttermilk fried chicken bites, French fries, mini corn dogs, In-N-Out burgers and Bouchon's mini sugar donuts. We’re excited to see what this years party has in store!
Guillermo del Toro Holds Court at Fox Party
Twentieth Century Fox hosts an Oscar party every year, but last year they had a lot to celebrate with The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri both celebrating big wins.
The party took place at TAO and attendees got to enjoy full service taco bar (steak, chicken, mushroom), sushi platters, cheesecake bites, French fries, and more.
Oscars’ Governors Ball
In 2018 more than 1,500 guests from the Dolby Theater poured into the Ray Dolby Ballroom upstairs from the actual show at the Hollywood and Highland complex. Wolfgang Puck made his popular smoked salmon in the shape of an Oscar, plus wagyu beef tartare on black rice, white asparagus soup topped with caviar, and black truffle chicken pot pie.
Guests at the Governors Ball included nominees Diane Warren, Timothee Chalamet and winners Kobe Bryant, Gary Oldman, James Ivory, Sam Rockwell and Frances McDormand, Jordan Peele, among others.
