The rest of the country knows Venice, California for two things: our sprawling beaches and our love of the arts. They aren’t wrong. Our appreciation for art is something that brings our community together. Neighbors join each other on sidewalks to discuss the beautiful murals that line the streets. Tourists come just to see our eclectic boardwalk and to get a glimpse at some of the most creative works of art in California.
The community that calls this town home supports this love of art and culture. The Venice Chamber of Commerce hosts 4 events throughout the year that cradle this idea of community through the arts. The highly anticipated events are aptly named the Venice Art Crawl. On March 16, join your friends and neighbors as we tour some of the town’s favorite art galleries.
The mission of the event is to “preserve the arts in Venice, a place that has historically been known as a vibrant and dynamic art community.” The Chamber of Commerce’s “goal is to share, inspire and promote collaboration within the Venice community through mixers and art events.”
If you would like your business to participate in the event, you must submit your request by March 1. For more information regarding submitting you event click here! Once you have submitted and you start to plan your event, the Venice Art Crawl website gives you a couple of tips to keep in mind for a successful night! There are pre-event marketing tips include creating a buzz around your specific event and making it stand out in the crowd so that there is excitement surrounding it. It also suggests inviting people to your event that you know would be interested in not only attending, but also promoting it among their friends. And creating an event Facebook page or website. The tips for creating a successful page are here!
If you do not own a gallery and simply want to attend the event, there are plenty of places to begin the crawl. You might want to consider starting with Happy Hour at Canal Club at 5:30 and then follow the Venice Art events along Venice Blvd.
