Its official, the warm summer weather is official gone. As we mourn the days of warmth, we take comfort in the fact Fall in Silicon Beach is still pretty damn beautiful.

Below is a list of things to do in the area that you can enjoy in the cooler weather!

Go to a Museum

We have so many different museums in LA, from art museums to science museums, and they are all worth seeing on a cold day!

Arguably the most famous museum is the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The 20-acre complex of buildings has been steadily renovated through the years, making the museum more visitor friendly than ever before. The uptick in visitors can be attributed to the renovation of the BP Grand Entrance Pavilion, and Chris Burden’s Urban Light display.  The attraction features 202 cast-iron street lamps gathered from around LA and restored to working order.

Another museum worth seeing is the Natural History Museum. You can spend an entire day wandering massive museum and still not see it all. With 35 million objects and specimen (not all on display at once), this museum is second in size only to the Smithsonian.

Go Roller Skating

Ready for a blast from the past? Go to Moonlight Roller Way in Glendale and enjoy a few blissful hours in a time before cellphones and social media. This retro roller rink boasts a disco ball and classic tunes so you can jam out while trying skating around.

When it’s time for a break, get a bite of classic roller rink food from their rink-side snack bar. Have anything from pizza and corn dogs to popcorn and pretzels! It’s a true blast from the past!

Spend a Day in the Spa

Spending an entire day inside a spa can be the perfect way to cure your end-of-Summer Sadness.

The Tikkun Holistic Spa in Santa Monica offers treatments that will heal and rejuvenate your mind and body. The Tikkun Holistic Spa treatments are meant to restore your health and well-being while helping you relax and replenish your energy.

They offer a long list of treatments, from Deep tissue massages to acupuncture. No matter what you choose, you’ll leave feeling far more refreshed and ready to take on the cold than you were when you went in.
